The first type is terminal-host for systems with mainframes or minicomputers supplying all of the intelligence to dumb terminals. The second type is the client/file server for the generation with a dumb host and smart PCs. The third type is the client/server type for the systems in which all elements of the network have considerable intelligence. And the last type of generation family is Peer-to-peer type.
